A Letter From Dr. Paisley
I became interested in chiropractic and massage therapy as a result of my own journey to health. At the age of 12, I was in a severe car accident on an icy road in my home town in Illinois. As the passenger in the car, my body was thrown violently into the passenger door, where the window crank became lodged into my skull. I suffered severe headaches and occasional seizures for many years afterwards. Frustrated with the lack of relief from conventional medical treatment, in my late teens I started researching alternative treatments to relieve the pain and anxiety I was suffering from. On this path, I learned the basics about how thoughts govern pain, govern health, and govern happiness. I found massage therapy, and Chiropractic to help relieve my tension and strained muscles from that first severe trauma. I suffered again after a second automobile accident some years later, and it was then that I started to put some ideas together about what wellness philosophy was, a full mind and body approach to healing myself. Controlling my mind to help quiet the anxiety that tensed the muscles, the muscles that supported a neck and head so traumatized with injury that I found it hard to concentrate. The deeper I went into myself and my own wellness, the more open I became to newness, and I felt better.
After college I began to study Massage Therapy, and in 1997 I graduated from the Dahan Institute of Massage Studies in Las Vegas, Nevada. I worked at the world renowned spa inside Cesar’s Palace for nearly three years, treated over 5000 people with all types of aches, pains, and injuries, both to their bodies and to their spirits. I learned I could “see” them, I could intuitively see the patients needs and injuries, and I also found I could help them. The energy of that type of interaction healed us both. And as I became stronger in my own wellness philosophy, that healing circle became stronger too, and I wanted to be of even more help to the people I came in contact with, so I sold my house and moved to Los Angeles to attend and eventually graduate from Los Angeles Chiropractic College. After mentoring with a prominent DC in Poway CA for several years, I started my own practice in 2008.
As proud as I am of these accomplishments, I am even more happy with my own growth and reach as a practitioner. My Wellness Center now has a second Chiropractor, several top ranked MT’s, an Exercise Therapist, and a brilliant Acupuncturist. All of these modalities blend to treat my patients with the deepest empathy, skill, and balance, and with great success.
I have started teaching workshops on Wellness Philosophy, Women’s’ Issues, Meditation, Life Balance, Gratitude, Yoga and Nutrition, all as part of my “Living A Healed Life” series, and a book with the same title. Headaches are manageable, life is wonderful, and I am ever so honored that you are here.
In wellness –
